Bound-in advertising reply cards present. Pages toned. Otherwise unmarked. First issue of the magazine's thirtieth volume, with an editorial on the 290 numbers since April 1937. Margarita Walker Dulac's "Ivan Albright, Mystic-Realist" (pp. 32-37) draws on her acquaintance with the Chicago painter since the 1933 Grant Park Art Fair, with reproductions courtesy the Art Institute of Chicago: Into the World Came a Soul Called Ida, That Which I Should Have Done I Did Not Do, Poor Room, The Lineman, Among Those Left, The Rosicrucian, and the 1933 self-portrait.
