Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Exhibition catalogue published in 1971 by Galerie Arnaud, Paris, presenting John Franklin Koenig's works of 1969-1971, with a bilingual dialogue between Koenig and his gallerist Jean-Robert Arnaud. 8vo (7 × 9.5 inches), pictorial wrap-around wrappers, illustrated in color and b/w. Text in French and English. Inscribed by Koenig on the title page to art critic Dore Ashton: "for Dore — avec un autre dialogue / John," a playful reference to the dialogue at the center of the publication. American-born Koenig settled in Paris in 1948 and became an important participant in postwar French abstraction, co-founding both Galerie Arnaud and the influential art journal Cimaise. Ashton wrote on Koenig and his place within the postwar Parisian art world, making this a particularly apt association copy. From the library of Dore Ashton. Front hinge split, spine separated from text block. Text block binding sound notwithstanding. Minor bumping and light rubbing to extremities. Inscribed by Illustrator(s).
