This edition was originally published by Stephen Austin and Sons from 1870 to 1881, and features a facsimile of the title pages to each volume. This work was originally published in three volumes. This set is lacking volume II. Lacking the original dustwrappers. Copiously illustrated throughout with in-text illustrations and plates, with a portrait frontispiece of Cussans and a folding map of Hertfordshire to volume I. In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt titles to spines. Externally lovely, with only minor shelfwear to extremities and head and tail of spines. Internally firmly.
