This offering is for a comprehensive later printing of "Plane Surveying: A Text-Book and Pocket Manual" by John Clayton Tracy, C.E., Professor of Civil Engineering at Sheffield Scientific School of Yale University. Published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. in New York and Chapman & Hall, Limited in London, this edition dates to 1923, featuring a significant total issue of forty-eight thousand copies. It features numerous in-text diagrams, figures, and practical field note examples illustrating methods for chaining, transit surveying, leveling, stadia surveying, topographic surveying, and more. A notable inclusion is a large, clean fold-out "ISOGONIC CHART OF UNITED STATES FOR 1920," providing a historical cartographic detail for magnetic declination. This volume served as an essential resource for engineers and surveyors in the early 20th century. Condition: Exterior - Heavily rubbed, with fraying and loss of cloth at the top and bottom edges. Corners are bumped and frayed. Gilt lettering on spine is present but rubbed. Hinges are intact. Binding remains sturdy. Interior - Pages are generally clean and supple.
