Scarce and early brief treatise on bone necrosis, by the German physician Johann Peter Weidmann, (1751-1819).He was to subsequently published a more extensive and illustrated treatise on the subject in 1793, which is considered to be an early monograph on the subject, published a year before James Russell's more recognised treatise and description 'A Practical Essay on a certain disease of the bones termed necrosis' (see G&M 4307). In 1782 Weidmann had been appointed as full professor of anatomy, surgery and obstetrics at Mainz. No copies in the US, with only a number of European holdings.

Die Weiber sind einer so hohen und ausgebreiteten Wissenschaft unfähig.
