In embossed card with gilt titles: the covers are rubbed to edges and spine, but otherwise the book is fine. Bright red embossed and gilt sample covers are pasted down to the marbled end papers: the gilt edges are bright, the pages crisp. Contains many full page illustrations, some in colour, protected by tissue guards; with photographs of famous physicians such as Sir William Jenner and Sir William Gull.
