Paperbound. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. First Edition. Octavo, [20cm/8in], paperbound with pictorial covers, pp. 80, indexed. Fully illustrated with b-w halftones. . The Law Library Justice Foundation's website notes: Public law libraries are important because everyone has a right to know the law. We were established in 1891 by the State of California to provide legal information not only to attorneys and judges, but to businesses, self-represented litigants, and people like you who want to know more about their rights. The law library has 4 locations around the county (Chula Vista, Downtown San Diego, El Cajon, Vista), and we have expert researchers here to help you find what you need 6 days a week. In fact, what we do is so important that we must preserve our limited resources, space, and staff by asking that people only use our facility for legal research. We must be true to our mission: law made public, which is making legal resources accessible to the public. As a small, specialized library we have limited resources that must be preserved for those needing to access the law. Those who are not here to access the law will find lots of space at the public library. We exist solely to provide legal information; if our work stations and study tables are taken up by those not needing legal resources then we are doing a disservice to those for whom we are here to serve. So, we must ask you to be actively performing legal research in our resources, preparing court paperwork, or attending legal clinics. If you are not doing legal research you may be asked to leave. In exceptionally good condition.

Buch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book, bringing together contributions by forty-five authors from fourteen countries, represents mostly new material from both emerging and seasoned scholars in the field of philosophy of education. Topics range widely both within and across the four parts of the book: Wittgenstein's biography and style as an educator and philosopher, illustrating the pedagogical dimensions of his early and late philosophy; Wittgenstein's thought and methods in relation to other philosophers such as Cavell, Dewey, Foucault, Hegel and the Buddha; contrasting investigations of training in relation to initiation into forms of life, emotions, mathematics and the arts (dance, poetry, film, and drama), including questions from theory of mind (nativism vs. initiation into social practices), neuroscience, primate studies, constructivism and relativity; and the role of Wittgenstein's philosophy in religious studies and moral philosophy, as well as their profound impact on his ownlife. This collection explores Wittgenstein not so much as a philosopher who provides a method for teaching or analyzing educational concepts but rather as one who approaches philosophical questions from a pedagogical point of view. Wittgenstein's philosophy is essentially pedagogical: he provides pictures, drawings, analogies, similes, jokes, equations, dialogues with himself, questions and wrong answers, experiments and so on, as a means of shifting our thinking, or of helping us escape the pictures that hold us captive.
