Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. I wrote A Taste of Honey as a personal inspirational memoir to share my life story.Life is filled with both stings and blessings. Thank God nothing last forever . Through faith and perseverance, a positive attitude, I gained clarity, joy, self -respect, self-love, self awareness, and the courage to look forward to a brighter days ahead. Living with intention and purpose brings light to life . We reap what we sow. If we plant something we will harvest something. If we don't plant anything we harvest nothing. When we do good blessings often follow. A Taste of Honey taught me to slow down and savor the sweetness of the present moments. Life is like honey-rich golden and wonderfully but only sweet.- but only if we slow down long enough to enjoy it For many years, I rushed through life . I stayed busy, checked off endless to-do lists, and filled every moment -the laughter, the stillness, the simple mornings that seemed ordinary at the time but later became treasured memories. One day I stopped long enough to play with my dog and simply enjoy the moment. the sun rose warm and gentle .Birds sang bees buzzled, and peace settled quietly around me. . I realized that real peace is not something we chase - it is something we allowed Life has taught me that every sting carries a lesson, and every lessons has the potential to become honey. As I look back on my journey- from my childhood in the Philippines to building a life in America, raising a family, facing challenges, blessings, and learning countless lessons -I see how every experience has shaped who I am today. There were a season of laughter and a seasons of tears. There were disappointments, frustrations and hardships. Yet with time, faith and perseverance, many of those stings eventually became something sweet. That's why I chose the title A Taste of Honey. Honey is not made overnight. It is created patiently, drop by drop. Life is much the same . Wisdom grows slowly. Faith becomes stronger through trials. Love deepens through understanding. Often the sweetest moments arrive after the hardest season. This book is a collection of stories, reflections, lessons, humor, faith, memories gathered throughout my life. Some stories will make you smile . Others may encourage you to view your own challenges differently. My hope is that these pages remind you that no matter what you have face there is still sweetness to be found. I am not writing as someone who has all the answers. I am simply sharing what life has taught me: Laugh louder, love deeper, let go sooner and trust God fully. Inside this Book You'll Discover* Inspiring stories from a life well lived.*Lessons on faith, resilience and personal growth*Reflections on family, love and gratitude*Encouragement for healthy aging*Practical wisdom fo0r finding joy in everyday life. If you are walking through a difficult season, I hope these words bring comfort. If you are celebrating a joyful season, I hope they deepen your gratitude. And if you are somewhere in between, I hope this book encourages you to keep moving forward with faith, hope and purpose Thank you for joining me on this journey. May you discover as I have that on the other side of every sting there's something sweet waiting. With Gratitude, Cora ParkerAuthor of Escaping Diabetes Through Healthy Living and Life Is Like a Dream Honey Thought"A book is written one word at a time, just as honey is made one drop at a time. Be patient with he process and be proud of the journey." Most importantly, I give thanks to God whose grace, wisdom, and love have guided me through every season of life. Through every sting .He help me find the honey. The sweetest honey is made from thankfulness, gratitude, and a life Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability. Parker, Kerri (illustrator). …

Paperback. Condition: New. Based on twenty years of research and thousands of interviews, this authoritative biography of performer Josephine Baker (1906-1975) provides a candid look at her tempestuous life. Born into poverty in St. Louis, the uninhibited chorus girl became the sensation of Europe and the last century's first black sex symbol. A heroine of the French Resistance in World War II, she entranced figures as diverse as de Gaulle, Tito, Castro, Princess Grace, two popes, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Yet Josephine was also, as one critic put it, "a monster who made Joan Crawford look like the Virgin Mary." Jean-Claude Baker's book also reveals her outbursts that resulted in lasting feuds, her imperious treatment of family and entourage members, and her ambivalent attitudes concerning her ethnic background. Reconciling Josephine's many personas-Jazz-age icon, national hero of France, proponent of Civil Rights, mother of children from across the globe-Josephine: The Hungry Heart gives readers the inside story on a star unlike any other before or since.…
