The exhibition presented 202 paintings from the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum and the Nationalgalerie in Berlin, including ninety-seven works newly returned from the United States where they had been kept for safekeeping during and after the Second World War. Newman (Director, OMGH) and an introduction by Theodore Allen Heinrich (Chief, Museums Section, Education and Cultural Relations Division, OMGUS).
