Buspirone is promoted as a better drug for anxiety, as it does not cause any sedation, tolerance or physical dependence.This is an observational study undertaken, between October 2009 to March 2010, at the Psychiatric inpatient Department of Manipal Teaching Hospital. The Z test was used to examine the difference between different variables and strength of the relationship with logistic regression. p 0.05 is considered as statistically significant.This is the first study on anxiolytic drugs in psychiatry inpatients from Nepal.This book is essential for the general population and the researchers.

Fluoxetine was the commonest antidepressants to be prescribed 42.1% followed by Amitriptyline 26.3%, Trazodone 21.1% etc.This book also includes ATC codes,Drug utilization study, Classification of Drugs, Defined daily doses, History of Psychotropic drugs, History of Psychiatry in Nepal,Typical and atypical antidepressants,various theories of depression, lag period of antidepressants etc.
