Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Octavo. 155pp. Green cloth, illustrated on the front panel in red. Very slight fade to the colour at the extreme, lower margin. The jacket is unclipped (8s 6d net). Touches of edge wear. Jacket now in a protective removable sleeve. Tanning to endpapers, else a VG copy of this title without inscriptions or blemishes. A gentle comic tale of an awkward, young man who grows up to be a gardener at the 'Big House' and a fount of gardening wisdom. Minton's illustrations match the nostalgic tone. A Romantic at heart, Minton felt increasingly out of fashion with the rise of the Abstract Movement and killed himself only seven years after this title was published.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. The Wanderer (translation of Le Grands Meaulnes by Franoise Delisle, introduction by Bonamy Dobree) Alain Fournier Publisher: Paul Elek 1947 First Edition thus with John Minton's illustrations. Octavo. 223pp. Green cloth with a few small patches of mild discolouration (green is a notoriously fugitive colour).Gilt titles to spine. The jacket is unclipped, and repriced by the publisher to 10s 6d. the original price struck through. Mild edge wear, a couple of tiny chips, mild creasing to the inner flaps else very good indeed. The jacket has small, coloured Minton vignettes on the front and rear. A couple of faint, small marks on the front free endpaper. No inscriptions. The jacket is now in a protective removable sleeve.
