This study presents the determination of the optimum thickness of insulation in building insulation products made of unconventional and natural materials, e.g. Bagasse, Sunflower leaves, Pineapple leaves, Reeds, Cardboard, etc. For this purpose, energy simulations have been performed for different natural insulation materials of various thicknesses, which are proposed for a commercial bank building located at MNNIT, Allahabad, UP, India, and Blade Shop at BHEL Haridwar. Aumentar a resistência térmica…da envolvente do edifício através do isolamento é uma das técnicas comumente utilizadas. A maioria dos materiais isolantes disponíveis no mercado são compostos poliméricos sintéticos compostos de petroquímicos, por exemplo, poliestireno expandido, poliestireno extrudido, lã de vidro, etc. O conceito de sustentabilidade no sector da construção tem levado gradualmente à produção de produtos de isolamento sustentáveis feitos de materiais naturais.
