A…lfred Ernst Christian Alexander Hugenberg (1865-1951) war ein deutscher Montan-, Rüstungs- und Medienunternehmer, Politiker (DNVP) und während der ersten Monate nach Hitlers Machtergreifung 1933 Reichsminister für Wirtschaft, Landwirtschaft und Ernährung in dessen erstem Kabinett. Er gehörte zu den Gründungsmitgliedern des völkischen und antisemitischen Alldeutschen Verbandes, der zeitweise einer der größten und bekanntesten Agitationsverbände war. Mit seinem Hugenberg-Konzern, einem Medienkonzern, der die Hälfte der deutschen Presse kontrollierte, trug er mit nationalistischer und antidemokratischer Propaganda maßgeblich zur Zerstörung der Weimarer Republik bei. Original-Flugblatt der Deutschnationalen Volkspartei zur Reichstagswahl im November 1932. Die DNVP war hier bereits derart radikalisiert, daß für sie nur noch die Abschaffung des Weimarer Parteiensystems infrage kam. Im Text heißt es: "Solange das System von Weimar besteht, müssen wir Partei sein. Aber in dem Maße, in dem das Morgenrot eines organischen Volksstaates aufsteigt, fühlen wir uns als das, was wir im tiefsten Grunde sind, nämlich als die Träger der künftigen Volksgemeinschaft. Den jetzt kommenden Wahlkampf führen wir nicht als Partei, sondern als politische Armee des neuen Staates. Dieser neue Staat ist die heimliche Sehnsucht von Millionen [.]". Im tatsächlichen neuen Staat der NSDAP dann hatte die DNVP kaum noch Platz. Das vorliegende Flugblatt ist eindrückliches Dokument ihrer Bestrebungen zur Abschaffung der Demokratie kurz vor 1933. Das Flugblatt richtete sich explizit an die Beamtenschaft: es griff für diese Berufs- und Wählergruppe relevante Themen auf wie das damals von der Politik aktuell verhandelte "Pensionskürzungsgesetz" und vermied gleichzeitig solch radikale Positionen wie die gleichzeitig geforderte Abschaffung des gegenwärtigen politischen Systems um etwas Neuem Platz zu machen. Im Text heißt es: "Beamte, wer stellt sich schützend vor Eure Rechte? Allein die Deutschnationale Volkspartei. Sie kämpft gegen die Politisierung der Beamtenschaft und gegen ihre Durchsetzung mit nicht vorgebildeten Personen. Sie tritt ein für die Aufrechterhaltung des Berufsbeamtentums / für die Reinigung des Beamtenkörpers von ungeeigneten und unwürdigen Elementen / für eine angemessene Besoldung / für den Schutz der verfassungsmäßig gesicherten Rechte / für zeitgemäße Reform des Beamtenrechts."
