"Harper's Bazar" was one of the most influential periodicals in publishing history, being a preeminent women's magazines of its day. A great source for vintage fashion ideas, it is filled with beautifully illustrated fashion displays, top-notch stories by favorite authors and articles by experts on numerous topics guaranteed to be of interest to Edwardian women, what was there not to fascinate subscribers? To be "with it" in 1900 meant one read "Harper's Bazar". Women who paid attention to culture and style paid attention to this entertaining and informative magazine. There are also some fascinating period advertisements , and especially the unusual (for its time) full color advertisement for Shredded Wheat recipes. There is much of charm and interest in this November 1900 issue, including fiction, poetry (Margaret Sangster contributes one poem), articles on fashion, dinners, all sorts of useful advice and interesting advertisements. Clarke Award and Prince of Asturias Award for Literature, has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize five times, winning once, and has been a finalist for the Governor General's Award several times, winning twice.
