Diese Bedeutung der medialen Berichterstattung kann staatliche Unterstützung aus ökonomischer und rechtlicher Sicht rechtfertigen. Das Buch diskutiert bestehende Förderformen und schlägt eine innovative Neugestaltung des Programmauftrags sowie eine politisch unabhängige, wettbewerbliche Medienförderung für das digitale Zeitalter vor. To do so, they draw on approaches stemming from the legal, political and management sciences.
