Es ist aus verschiedenen Vorlesungen hervorgegangen, welche die Verfasser… an den Universitäten Frankfurt und Heidelberg gehalten haben. Der Adressatenkreis dieser Vorlesungen hat sich im Lauf der Zeit etwas verschoben: während wir uns früher hauptsächlich an Hörer wandten, die das Diplom in Mathematik mit dem Schwerpunkt Stochastik anstrebten, so war in späterer Zeit, nachdem Stochastik ein fester Bestandteil des Lehrstoffs in der gym nasialen Oberstufe in allen Bundesländern geworden war, zusehends den Bedürfnissen der Lehrerstudenten Rechnung zu tragen. Wir bemühten uns um eine hinreichend ausflihrlich ange legte Einflihrung in dieses Gebiet, das ja nicht zum traditionellen Kanon der Schulmathematik gehört. Mittlerweile sehen wir keinen einleuchtenden Grund mehr, warum eine Einfl- rung für beide Personenkreise wesentlich verschieden sein sollte; in bei den Fällen kommt es darauf an, 'stochastisches Denken' zu lernen und Vorstellungen von der Reichweite stochastischer Argumentationen zu entwickeln. Es ist nach unserer Ansicht der falsche Weg, von Anfang an einen axiomatisch-deduktiven Aufbau vorzustellen, sowohl im Blick auf den künftigen Anwender in der Praxis als auch auf den Lehrer, schon wegen der Gefahr des Mißverständnisses beim letzteren, Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie an der Schule erschöpfe sich in elementarisierter (trivialisierter) Maßtheorie in diskreten R- men. 297 pp. Deutsch.
