Journal 3: Midshipman Joseph Henry Kay (1828-1831): Captures a young officer's perspective during the scientific and exploratory voyage of the HMS Chanticleer to the South Atlantic and the fringes of Antarctica. Journal 4: Jacob Wainwright (1873-1874): Recounts the somber, demanding journey to transport the body of the famous explorer Dr. David Livingstone from the interior of Africa back to the coast.
