"This 5.375 x 7.5 inch, 91 page hardcover book with dust jacket is the first edition of this title in 1922 by Purnell's in Sacramento. This copy is in very good condition with a bit of bumping and edge-wear to the paper covered boards. The corners are not wo…rn through and overall the paper covers are in very nice condition, with no soiling or smudging. The interior shows the same paper used for the end-papers and the text shows no damage or markings with only a touch of browning to the paper itself. The interior is in near fine condition or better. The wrapper shows wear especially at the folds and with one half-inch piece missing at the spine crown. Overall the wrapper is in at least good condition and probably better and is now protected by a mylar cover. The author recounts stories from the gold rush days with such story titles as "The Hanging of Charlie Price," "Rattlesnake Dick," "Indian Vengeance," "The Barstow Lynching," and more. 91 pages.".
