Hardcover. 30 x 23 cm. Originaler dunkelgrüner Halbleinenband mit Kurztitel und Bandnummern in goldener Prägung auf dem Rücken sowie bunt marmoriertem Dreiseitenschnitt. Der Einband ist insgesamt etwas berieben und bestoßen, hinteres Außengelenk mit kleinen Fehlstellen. Jeweils VII (+I), 384 Seiten mit zahlreichen einfarbigen Abbildungen im Text und auf Tafeln ( darunter einige Stahlstiche ) sowie einigen mehrfarbigen, ausfaltbaren Karten. Die Kartenrückseiten und -ränder sowie die Tafeln mit den Stichen sind gebräunt, diese auch mit Abklatsch auf die jeweils davor- und dahinterliegende Seite. Etwa ein Drittel der Seiten ist schwach bis stärker gelbfleckig, einzelne Lagen sind papierbedingt stärker gebräunt, vereinzelt sind schwache Feuchtränder sichtbar. Das Buch riecht etwas muffig. Titelblatt des 5. Bandes mit altem Stempel und Signatur. Im Ganzen jedoch innen sauber und noch ganz gut erhalten.
