Contains the proceedings of the Methodist Church's Unification Conference of April 24-May 6, 1940, held in Atlantic City. The book is autographed by delegate Joseph R. Pennel of Binghamton, NY, who writes "We were at…Hotel Arlington for the General Conference.and at the Dennis Hotel for the Jurisdictional Conference June 18--both conferences were held in the Municipal Auditorium, Atlantic City. At this time I was Superintendent of the Binghamton District, Wyoming Conference and lived at 666 Chenango Street, Binghamton, New York." Also included is a black-and-white photo of Pennell and his wife walking down the boardwalk in Atlantic City which has Pennell's handwritten caption & explanation on reverse, noting that this was also during the Unification Conference. Photo is 5"x7", slightly faded at edges. Book is 875 pages incl. index; approx. 6"x8". Book is in good condition with browned pages, wear and soil. None (illustrator).
