Begleitbrief mit Entschuldigung für die verspä…tete Übersendung des Albumblatts: "Durch die infolge meiner Landtagssache eingetretene Schädigung meiner Gesundheit war ich monatelang von Berlin abwesend [.]". Die Sentenz lautet: "Kein grosses Volk, das über blossen materiellen Lebensgenuss hinaus Kraft und Stolz besitzt, kann auf Weltgeltung verzichten. Weder geistige noch kulturelle Überlegenheit aber, nicht einmal die sittliche, gewährleisten Weltgeltung. Für die Dauer entscheidend allein ist, - zumal für ein Volk der Mitte, wie das deutsche, - sein zahlenmässiges Sichbehaupten. Freilich, nicht die Zahl schlechthin tut's. Nicht das Gewimmel überlieferungsloser Proletarier, die sich als Wurzellose fühlen, hat Wert. Es gilt die Zahl der erdverwurzelten, heimatverbundenen Menschen in allen Ständen. Nur solche allein auch werden sich frei halten vom tödlichen Gifte der Selbstzersetzung durch Gleichheitsnarretei (Demokratie), Friedensduselei (Pazifismus) und würdelosen Verbrüderungsschwindel (Internationalismus) [.]". - Geschrieben als Beitrag für die von Friedrich Koslowsky im Berliner Eigenbrödler-Verlag herausgegebene Faksimile-Anthologie "Deutschlands Köpfe der Gegenwart über Deutschlands Zukunft" (1928).
