Amsterdam, MCCMLXX (pour 1870) [i.e. 1910, par les Frères Briffaut à Paris 2 tomes reliés en 1 volume in-8 (19 x 13 cm environ) de (4)-83 et 1 feuillet de table pour le tome 1 (recto seulement) et (4)-78 et 1 feuillet de table pour le tome 2 (recto seulement). Reliure à la bradel pleine percaline rouge de l'époque, titre doré au dos, relié sur brochure, non rogné, les couvertures jaunes sur papier fort imprimées en noir et rouge ont été conservées en parfait état (les deux premiers plats et le second plat du tome 2). Très belle impression sur beau papier vergé fort à pontuseaux horizontaux. Parfait exemplaire, très frais. Papier bruni en regard des couvertures conservées. Nouvelle édition clandestine donnée en 1910 à Paris par les Frères Briffaut (Dutel). Edition rare tirée à très petit nombre. Le texte est attribué à Paul Perret. Les initiales R.D.D.M. qui font penser à la Revue des Deux Mondes ont été mises là à dessein. Notre exemplaire est imprimé sur beau papier vergé fort à pontuseaux horizontaux. Les ornements, d'après Dutel, renvoient aux éditions données par les Frères Briffaut à Paris. Références : Dutel, Bibliographie des ouvrages érotiques publiés clandestinement en français entre 1880 et 1920, n°836 (titre reproduit identique à notre exemplaire) ; Pia, Les Livres de l'Enfer, 1295. Cet ouvrage, ouvertement pornographique mais écrit dans un style très étudié, a été publié pour la première fois en 1870 à Bruxelles par Poulet-Malassis. Les frères Briffaut ont donné (selon Dutel) plusieurs éditions de ce texte entre 1910 et 1912. Notre édition a été imprimée sur un très beau papier vergé fort filigrané M B M. "Ouvrage libre, qui ne recule pas devant l'emploi des expressions les plus vives ; il est divisé en quinze chapitres. — Les initiales ci-dessus ne signifient-elles pas Revue des Deux Mondes ? On a attribué ces Tableaux à l'auteur d'Un été à la campagne ou Correspondance de deux jeunes Parisiennes, en un mot, à un fils de l'Académicien Droz." (extrait placé en tête de notre édition).
