Griffith tells the story of the early days of the movies when the Gish Sisters were still looking for jobs, Chaplin was a low salaried vaudeville performer and Pickford worked for $5 a day. Mrs. Griffith, better known back in the day by her stage name Linda Arvidson, worked in the early days of the silent movies with her husband at the Biograph Company on 14th Street in New York City; she was one of the "Biograph G256 pp. Profusely illusteratedirls", the actresses not credited in the films until after 1913.
