Incisione originale su matrice di rame all` acquaforte. Al margine inferiore indicazione degli autori, legenda e dati editoriali. Tavola ispirata a dipinto di Greuze, artista di grande importanza nel panorama artistico francese del secolo XVIII, conosciuto per il grande ardore e la forte drammaticità espressa nelle sue opere. La… traduzione in lastra, eseguita con abile e fine tratteggio, spetta a Cars, incisore francese, graveur du roi, allievo di Tardieu, egli contribuì a orientare l`arte dell` incisione verso effetti più animati e luminosi, incise opere di Lemoisne, Watteau, Chardin, Boucher e , come per il foglio in esame, di Greuze, fu anche ottimo ritrattista. Cars è stato uno dei piu stimati incisori del XVIII secolo , i suoi disegni sono precisi ed il suo tratto modellante ed espressivo. La tavola è stata rifinita a bulino per mano di Jardinier, incisore francese allievo di Dupuis e Le Bas e stretto collaboratore di Cars e Greuze. Suggestiva ed animata scena famigliare, ambientata all`interno di una casa rurale, raffigurante la mamma che tiene tra le braccia il nuovo nato, accanto a lei altri due figli , a sottolineare la scena l`autore ha conferito , come era sua abitudine, chiari e forti segni espressivi ai volti degli astanti. Esemplare in buone condizioni conservative.
