In this timely publication, Martin Sundberg delves into the archives in an attempt to paint a more complete picture of the artist's life and work. She was a versatile draughtsman, painter, sculptor and writer who was influenced by her times but always sought to develop her own approach independently of the trends. Her creative output was prolific and is here presented comprehensively for the first time.

Elle se lie au mouvement surréaliste auquel elle adhère. Une passion naît pour Tristan Tzara qu'elle épouse et pre…nd le nom de Greta Knutson-Tzara. Elle réalise de nombreuses scènes intimistes, des portraits. Dans les années 40 elle se lie à René Char dont elle devient la compagne. Usures et fines craquelures au cadre. Scène intimiste, où sur une plage méditerranéenne, des baigneuses nues se reposent, atmosphère empreinte de son maître, André Lhote. Oeuvre originale. . That's the question, et nécessaire pour moi, lorsque tu as…ma clef. Sans blague pas seulement de cette cause. Tu sais bien que tout dépend de toi, toute ma vie ! Ha ha ! L'autre jour j'ai vu De mémoire d'homme dans une exposition. Dans une nouvelle d'Hemingway j'ai trouvé suivant « and there in the café as he passed was the american poet with a pile of saucers in front of him and a stupid look on his patato face talking about the Dada movement with a Romanian who said his name was Tristan Tzara, who always wore a monocle and had a headache » On se demande pourquoi ce mal de tête, tu « buvais » probablement en ce temps-là ! Ha ha ! [] Je m embête tout de même un peu sans toi, les « divorces » sont trop longs » On joint une seconde lettre de la même au même, dactylographiée celle-là, une page in-8 à en-tête du Karolinska Sjukhuset de Stockholm où il est question de l'exposition des papiers découpés de Matisse chez Heinz Berggruen.
