Toned cream wrappers with black and white illustration at center front cover, "Lachende Jongen met Bierkan [1627-1630]. Triangular piece missing at lower right front cover (3/4" on the diagonal); small piece (5/16" x 3/8" x 1/2" on the diagonal) missing at top left corner front cover (at spine); lower corners with very small outward curl; light even wear down spine edges (from holding in hand there); diagonal bend at top right rear cover corner (as if bumped, but spine corners still sharp) with echoing forward through text at inside top of pages, particularly prominent between Illustrations nos. 3 and 5, opposite Illustration no. 4, but creasing there is confined to the top margins, NOT impacting any of the Illustrations proper: describes much worse than it is, but there you have it.
