Known for being one half of the publishing house Secker & Warburg, Martin Secker was responsible for producing the work of many celebrated authors, including George Orwell, D. H. Lawrence and Norman Douglas. Inscribed here to fellow publisher, translator and member of the Bloomsbury Group, Roger Senhouse, known for his sado-masochistic sexual relationship with fellow member, Lytton Strachey. An autobiographical work of Irish-American editor and author, Frank Harris, with an introduction by Grant Richards. A comprehensive look at the life, work and influence of Harris, illustrated with a frontispiece photograph of the author, taken in 1910. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, very good, with minor fading to the spine and the off mark. Cloth has split to the front joint, with backstrip lifting a little. Ink inscription to the front endpaper. Front hinge is a touch strained, but holding firm. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good. None (illustrator). book.
