Dieses Wissen um das Zusammengehen von bestimmten linguistischen Eigenschaften kann beispielsweise für die automatische Klassifikation von Textsorten, aber auch für die automatische Sprachproduktion genutzt werden. Weiterhin werden die Ergebnisse vor dem Hintergrund linguistischer Theorien beleuchtet. Dies erlaubt einerseits eine Bewertung dieser Theorien, andererseits können auf der Basis theoretischer Überlegungen Rückschlüsse auf die Eigenschaften der einzelnen Textabschnitte gewonnen werden; ein besonderes Augenmerk liegt dabei auf psycholinguistischen Konsequenzen sprachlicher Darstellung.
