Le découpage géographique imaginé par l'hydrographe est encore d'actualité , pour chaque région côtière , il donnait une description générale avant d'entrer dans les détails des indication sur les vents , marées , passes et chenaux . Alexandre de Givry , (Paris 1785-1867) , ingénieur hydrographe , entre au Dépôt des cartes et plans en 1803 , collabore avec Beautemps-Beaupré dés 1808 aux levés hydrographiques de l'Adriatique , puis en mer du nord de Anvers à Lubeck ,en Afrique , Brésil , Guyane , ses travaux font encore l'admiration des hydrographe d'aujourd'hui .Il est aussi connu pour La correction de Givry .P1-5A. …
