Each volume is wrapped in protective brown paper with printed labels taped to the spines. Endpapers marbled. With illustration to the first page of text in each volume. Rubbing and chipping to the leather at the spines and boards and splitting to the hinges of each volume. Some off-setting to the text throughout, darkening to the edges of the front and endmatter of each volume & pencil markings to the first free endpaper of volume 1.
