Georg August Spangenberg (* 4. Dezember 1738 in Göttingen; ? 4. März 1806) war ein deutscher Rechtswissenschaftler und Hochschullehrer. Spangenberg war Sohn des Göttinger Syndikus und Titularbürgermeisters Ernst August Spangenberg und studierte an der Universität Göttingen Philosophie und Rechtswissenschaften. Nach Abschluss seines Studiums begleitete er von 1761 bis 1766 als Hofmeister mit dem Titel eines gräflich Stolbergschen Rates zwei junge Grafen Stolberg?Stolberg auf ihrer Grand Tour und auf auswärtige Hochschulen. 1771 wurde er in Göttingen außerordentlicher, 1784 ordentlicher Professor der Rechte. Er las Institutionen, Pandekten und römisches Staats- und Privatrecht. Johann Christian Dieterich (* 25. Mai 1722 in Stendal; ? 18. Juni 1800 in Göttingen) war ein deutscher Buchhändler und Verleger, Begründer der Dieterich?schen Verlagsbuchhandlung, und Freund von Georg Christoph Lichtenberg. Dieterich war der Sohn eines Goldschmiedes aus Stendal. Dieterich begann seine Kaufmannstätigkeit als Inhaber eines Seidenwarengeschäfts in Berlin, später in Gotha. 1749 heiratete er dort die Tochter des Buchhändlers Mevius und übernahm die Mevius'sche Buchhandlung. 1760 gründete er eine weitere Buchhandlung in Göttingen, wo er 1765 Universitätsbuchhändler wurde und 1770 der Buchhandlung eine Druckerei angliederte. 1776 übersiedelte er ganz nach Göttingen. Georg August Spangenberg (1779-1837), Porfessor der Medizin und Kunstsammler - "Vorgebildet auf der Schule zu Kloster Bergen, studirte er Medicin in Göttingen und Würzburg, woselbst er 1801 prom…ovirte. Er ließ sich als praktischer Arzt in Braunschweig nieder und wurde 1803 als ordentlicher Professor in das Obersanitätscollegium berufen. Später wurde er auch Oberarzt des Central-Militärhospitals und hielt Vorlesungen am anatomisch-chirurgischen Lyceum. Im J. 1808 wurde S. nach Kassel als Leibarzt der regierenden Königin von Westfalen berufen. Auch hier war er Chef des Central-Militärhospitals und Arzt an der kgl. Militärschule. Nach dem Sturz Jerôme Bonaparte's kehrte er auf kurze Zeit nach Braunschweig zurück, um von dort 1815 nach Hamburg überzusiedeln. Hier erlangte er bald als praktischer Arzt eine ausgedehnte Praxis und ehrenvolle Stellung; u. a. wurde sein außerordentliches Gedächtniß gerühmt, wodurch er sich schnell erinnerte, in welchen Schriften vorkommende seltene Krankheitsfälle beschrieben wären. Von seinen ziemlich zahlreichen Schriften, die m. E. alle vor seiner Hamburger Zeit verfaßt worden sind, werden von Gurlt und Hirsch (Biographisches Lexikon der hervorragendsten Aerzte Band V, S. 476) die folgenden namhaft gemacht: "Neue theoretisch-praktische Darstellung der Blutflüsse in medicinischer Hinsicht." Braunschw. 1805. - "Ueber die Entzündung der Arterien und deren Ausgang" (Horn's Archiv für medic. Erf. V, 1804). - "Ueber Nervenanschwellungen" (Ebendaselbst). - "Ueber die Entstehung der Form des Hornhautstaphyloms" (Neues Archiv IX, 1809). - "Ueber eine Typhusepidemie" (ib. X, 1809). - "Kurze Nachricht über den Zustand des Militär-Krankenhauses in Braunschweig v. J. 1809" (ib. XII, 1810). S. besaß eine ausgezeichnete Gemäldesammlung meist älterer, besonders niederländischer Meister und "war selbst ein Kunstkenner ersten Ranges". Wilhelm Sillem, ADB XXXV (1893), pp.42-43.
