The Pseudomonas fluorescens isolates were characterized by Gram staining, motility test, plating on selective medium and performi…ng biochemical tests. The Pseudomonas fluorescens isolates were designated as PF -1 to PF - 10. The ten Pseudomonas fluorescens isolates obtained from the rhizosphere of paddy were tested for their efficiency of plant growth promoting substance production. Maximum production was recorded by the isolate PF-8 and minimum production was found in PF-4. The antagonistic activity of Pseudomonas fluorescens isolates against Rhizoctonia solani was also investigated. The combined effect of Pseudomonas fluorescens and salicylic acid on the growth & yield of paddy was investigated in the present study. Among the six treatments, T6 (Pseudomonas fluorescens seed application + Salicylic acid applied on 30th day) showed maximum plant height, nitrogen content, number of tillers per plant, leaf area index, dry matter production, number of panicles per hill, number of filled grains per panicle, thousand grain weight, grain yield, straw yield and biochemical constituents 132 pp. Englisch.

Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The water samples were collected for the isolation of strains of alga Spirulina platensis from three different locations and the strain Spirulina platensis was isolated and it was, designated as ANS - 1 strain. The characteristics of Spi…rulina platensis ANS -1 were compared with reference CAS -10. The isolated strain ANS -1 and reference strain CAS 10 were grown in substrates 1/6 diluted Zarrouk s medium (control), Rice mill effluent and sago industrial effluent.The effect of temperature and pH was determined for the strains CAS - 10 and ANS -1, and highest biomass was observed at 30°C of pH 9.0. In this optimum condition the biomass observed in CAS -10 and ANS - 1 was found to be 0.42 and 0.38 g 100ml respectively. The growth of Spirulina platensis was measured both in laboratory and outdoor condition by using the parameters viz., optical density, population, dry weight, protein and chlorophyll content. The high growth was recorded in 1/6 diluted Zarrouk s medium followed by to rice mill effluent medium and sago industrial effluent. Maximum protein content was noticed in 1/6 diluted Zarrouk s medium followed by rice mill effluent and sago industrial effluent.
