Dabei hat er die Liebe zum Jazz von seinem Vater Flavio Ambrosetti geerbt. Als Multiinstrumentalist zählte dieser damals zu den Schlüsselfiguren des Bebop in Europa und rief das erste Jazzfest in Lugano ins Leben.Zusätzlich zu seiner Begeisterung für Jazz bekommt Ambrosetti von seinem Vater auch das familieneigene Unternehmen vermacht. Franco meistert das scheinbar Unvereinbare: ein Unternehmen mit mehreren Standorten und einigen hundert Mitarbeitern zu führen und daneben auf Augenhöhe mit den Besten des Jazz zu musizieren. Franco Ambrosetti hat das ein Arbeitsleben lang gemacht und mit Bravour beide Karrieren verbunden. Ihm gelang der Balanceakt, als Musiker auch ein Manager zu sein. 'Umgekehrt ist das nicht so gut möglich, denn man kann nicht Manager und Musiker sein, wenn man das Talent nicht hat', so Ambrosetti.In seiner Autobiographie gewährt Ambrosetti dem Leser Einblicke in sein Leben, das von Musik und Wirtschaft geprägt ist. Er zieht Parallelen zwischen beiden Welten, skizziert ethische Grundsätze und erzählt ganz beiläufig auf faszinierende Art Jazzgeschichte.
