VG in G dj which is lightly chipped and silverfished at the bottom three inches of the front fold. The author is the son of the subject. John Kendrick Bangs, (1862-1922), born in Yonkers, NY, was an editor, lecturer and humorist, probably best remembered for THE HOUSE-BOAT ON THE STYX, which has become a classic of American humor.
