Cette partition musicale, Hudba veèera, compose lopus 79 des pièces pour piano du compositeur et date de 1904. Son tempo est indiquéAndante, ma col molta passioneLa partition a été dédicacée (en tchèque) en 1947 ; elle contient de nombreuses corrections au crayon : basses ajoutées, liaisons supprimées, doublement de certains accords. Il semble que le compositeur ait envisagé de modifier sensiblement quelques mesures de la fin, que l'on trouve à la suite, toujours au crayon. Compositeur mais aussi professeur et écrivain, J.B. Foester enseigna au conservatoire de Hambourg où il fit la connaissance de Gustav Mahler alors directeur de l'Opéra et avec lequel il noua de solides liens d'amitié.
