Hardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. From Rousseau to Richter, from Brancusi to Bourgeois, from Monet to Miro this volume presents twenty-five inspiring highlights that have transformed art in innovative ways. These works were selected from the more than 400 works held in the collection of the Fondation Beyeler. Whether it is found in the radical light reflected in Monets water lily pond or in Warhols Flowers, whether it is found in Mondrians abstract grids or Rothkos expressively luminous color fields, these twenty-five works attest to a visionary power reaching far beyond their present times. Such works are emblematic of the collection of modern art that has been carefully assembled by gallery owners Ernst and Hildy Beyeler and of the museum, which has become one of the most popular and successful venues in Europe since it was founded in 1997. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Piet Mondrian had a decisive influence on the development of painting from figuration to abstraction. On the occasion of his 150th birthday, Mondrian Evolution is dedicated to his multifaceted work and artistic development. Initially working in the tradition of Dutch landscape painting of the late 19th century, Symbolism and Cubism subsequently took on great significance for him. It was not until the early 1920s that the artist focused on a wholly non-representational pictorial vocabulary, limited to the rectangular arrangement of black lines with surfaces in white and the primary colors blue, red and yellow. In separate chapters, this path is traced through motifs such as windmills, dunes, and the sea, farms reflected in the water, and plants in various forms of abstraction. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Buch. Condition: Neu.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neu -From Rousseau to Richter, from Brancusi to Bourgeois, from Monet to Miró-this volume presents twenty-five inspiring highlights that have transformed art in innovative ways. These works were selected from the more than 400 works held in the collection of the Fondation Beyeler. Whether it is found in the radical light reflected in Monet's water lily pond or in Warhol's Flowers, whether it is found in Mondrian's abstract grids or Rothko's expressively luminous color fields, these twenty-five works attest to a visionary power reaching far beyond their present times. Such works are emblematic of the collection of modern art that has been carefully assembled by gallery owners Ernst and Hildy Beyeler and of the museum, which has become one of the most popular and successful venues in Europe since it was founded in 1997. 80 pp. Französisch.
