In 1933 ontdektsen ekle arbeiders in Oss de resten van een prehistorisch grafveld. De belangrijkste vondst was een bronzen emmer die als grafurn was gebruikt, De…bronzen emmer bleek een situla die omstreeks 600 voor Christus moet zijn geïmporteerd uit de Zuid-Duitse Hallstattcultuur. In dat gebied maakten ze deel uit van het drinkservies in hele rijke graven, de zogenaamde Fürstengräber. Wat de Osse vondst bijzonder maakte, was dat zij behalve crematieresten ook een ijzeren zwaard met een met bladgoud versierd handvat, onderdelen van een paardentuig en ijzeren messen omvatte. Ondanks het grote belang van het graf voor de kennis van de ijzertijd, werd de vindplaats in 1933 maar summier onderzocht en raakte de ligging ervan in de vergetelheid, In de jaren negentig hebben onderzoekers opnieuw het graf opgespoord en onderzocht. In 'Het vorstengraf van Oss. Een archeologosche speurtocht naar een prehistorisch grafveld' wordt dat nieuwe onderzoek op heldere manier uiteengezet. De uitgave geeft een compleet beeld van de belangrijkste vondst die ons land kent uit de vroege ijzertijd en de sociale context waaarin we die kunnen plaatsen. Aangevuld met kleuren en zwart-wit illustraties is het boek interessant voor iedereen die affiniteit heeft met archeologie en de geschiedenis van de prehistorie. (Publisher's information).
