Cloth & Boards. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st. Of This Ed. D.j., 223 pp., illus., index. One of the best personal Civil War narratives by a member of Hood's Texas Brigade. Fletcher enlisted in the 5th Texas Cavalry in 1861 & later transferred to the 8th Texas Cavalry in 1864. He was wounded several times & escaped from a moving prison train. The original 1908 edition was largely destroyed by fire; this edition holds true to the original edition.
