Drake 3478. Evans 23377. ESTC W29787. Includes the Massachusetts Register. "Issued at the time when the interest in the Ohio Company's lands at the mouth of the Muskingum was at fever pitch; on the last leaf of the magazine section the alert publishers have provided a guide "ROAD TO MUSKINGUM FROM BALTIMORE, MARYLAND SAID TO BE THE STRAITEST ROAD FROM THE EAST. STATES". The outstanding feature of the guide is a record of the names of the "innholders" along the route. At "Little Wheeling" (Moses) Sheppard" and at "Mouth of the Wheeling" (Ebenezer) Zane. The guide to the Muskingum is followed by a river guide from the Muskingum to the Great Miami. Therein, following the entry for Tapper's Creek appears the following "To 17 Range. West Bound(ary) Ohio Comp." Evidence that the guide was prepared with the members of that company in mind"-Midland 94.
