Paperback. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. 8vo; 40 pages; Clean and secure in original photographic wrappers. OCLC 67663429 Illustrated with 21 b&w photographs, including 2 double page. Werner Bischof (1916 â" 1954) was a Swiss photographer and photojournalist. He became a full member of Magnum Photos in 1949, the first new photographer to join its original founders. Bischof's book Japan (1954) was awarded the Prix Nadar in 1955. From 1939 on, he worked as an independent photographer for various magazines, in particular, du [Wikidata], based in Zürich. He travelled extensively from 1945 to 1949 through nearly all European countries from France to Romania and from Norway to Greece. His works on the devastation in post-war Europe established him as one of the foremost photojournalists of his time. The focus of much of Bischof's post-war humanist photography was showing the poverty and despair around him in Europe, tempered with his desire to travel the world, conveying the beauty of nature and humanity. Of photography, Bischof said - "I felt compelled to venture forth and explore the true face of the world. Leading a satisfying life of plenty had blinded many of us to the immense hardships beyond our borders." â" Werner Bischof.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Cloud '68-Paper Voice pays homage to the European radical movements in architecture that flourished between the 1950s and 1970s producing a wide range of experimental expression. From the personal collection of the Chilean architect Smiljan Radic, a selection of 173 graphic pieces-lithographs, drawings, original etchings, and ephemera-will show the horizon of meaning of the diverse architectural approaches from those years: works by Constant, Guy Debord, Asger Jorn, Haus-Rucker-Co, Archigram, Utopie, and Superstudio, among others, will meet in 33 panels that recall Aby Warburg's 'Mnemosyne Atlas.' The publication is complemented by a 'Wunderkammer ' of interview fragments by the critic and curator Hans Ulrich Obrist, who interviewed the protagonists of said architecture.
