Boldly inscribed by author on half title page: "To Frances with warm wishes. Fernando Bujones". Bujones (1955-2005) had power, elegance, and a pure technique that combined to gain him international renown as one of hi…s generation's best dancers. He became the youngest principal dancer in the history of American Ballet Theatre two years after joining the company, with which he danced in 197285 and 198995, and in 1974 he became the first American to win a gold medal at the International Ballet Competition at Varna, Bulg. As a guest artist during his performing career, Bujones appeared with some 60 companies in more than 30 countries. He later became a choreographer and since 2000 had served as artistic director of the Orlando Ballet. Profusely illustrated with b/w photographs. Text in English and Portuguese. Black cloth with author's signature reproduced in white on front. Covers show mild wear, with light bumps to corners. Dust Jacket shows light rubbing and scuffing, with bumps/rubbing to corners and tail of spine, light wear along top edge, 2" closed tear at front upper left corner. Interior is clean, crisp, tight & bright, other than author's inscription unmarked. 183 pp. Approx. 9" x 11.5". A very nice copy and an excellent addition to your library.
