The book was prepared under the auspices of the Royal Meteorological Society and presents photographs of cloud formations with accompanying captions and explanatory text, as seen in the sample pages showing black and white images with detailed notes beneath each. The dust jacket carries a colour cover photograph of a lenticular cloud formation over a landscape of trees and mountains, with the title and authors printed in black on a blue background. The jacket shows considerable wear, with chipping and loss along the top and bottom edges, a tear at the lower front corner, and rubbing to the spine where some text is worn away. The spine panel is faded in places. The rear panel is marked and shows surface soiling. Corners of the boards are visible through the damaged jacket. The text block itself appears clean in the sample opening shown. …
