Moderate wear and rubbing to binding, although the leather on the spine looks like it had dried out a bit and was treated. Outer text block is speckled red. All pages clean and copy is sound. The front pastedown bears a lovely bookplate of W.J. Lucas featuring a large beetle. The bookplate measures 5 5/8 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide and has a handwritten note at the bottom reading "24.xi.21" (possibly for November 24, 1921). Portrait frontis. Contains "The Scottish Naturalist", Nos. 97 & 98 [Jan-Feb, 1920] to Nos. 107-108 [Nov.-Dec., 1920] in six sections, paginated continuously. Nos103-104 has a separate title page for the "Report on Scottish Ornithology in 1919, Including Migration" by Leonora Jeffrey Rintoul and Evelyn V. Baxter. Other than one little text drawing and the portrait frontis, this is NOT an illustrated work.
