Paperback. 6 x 9 inches. Paperback. 96 pages. From May 25 to 31, 2014, twenty-four members of the Grolier Club embarked on a bibliophilic tour of Hungary. A brilliant opening gala at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest was followed by an abundance of library tours: the Archdiocesan Library of Eger, Franciscan Library at Gyöngyös Hungarian National Library, Cistercian Abbey and Library at Zirc, Szabó Ervin Public Library, and Ráday Historic Library. Travelers also provide accounts of a moving visit to the historic Great Synagogue and an expedition to the Valley of the Beautiful Woman, among other sites. An introduction to Budapest's vibrant community of book artists took place at the hotel reception, and the last day was highlighted by an excursion to the Hungarian State Opera House. The volume contains a detailed itinerary and a list of participants and their interests. Designed by Ryan Polich and set in Casus and Engravers types by Tina Henderson.
