Galerie Van de Loo Projekte is a 64 year old Private Gallery showing mostly Painting…with a focus on Gruppe SPUR. Since they were established in 1957 they have had at least 103 exhibitions (69 solo shows and 33 group shows) with 83 artists. Emil Cimiotti, sculptor and sketch artist, is one of the distinguished pioneers of (West) German post-war abstract art. His work was presented at the Venice Biennale in 1958 and 1960 as well as the documenta in Kassel in 1959 and 1964. Gerhard Hoehme (1920-1989). In 1952 Hoehme becomes a co-founder of 'Tachism' (Informel) in Germany. 1954-1957: the spokesman of the avant-garde movement 'Gruppe 53'. 1960: Villa Massimo, Rome; Professor of Free Painting at the State Academy of Art in Düsseldorf. From 1964 onwards working with pattern sheets. 1965: discovers the 'cord' as a structural pictorial element. 1968-1969: his first damask pictures. From 1968 onwards he produces his 'Mediatoren'.

August 1927 in Göttingen) ist ein Bildhauer des Informel. 1956 kam es zu ersten Ausstellungsbeteiligungen und heftigen Verrissen durch die Kunstkritik. 1957 erhielt Cimiotti den Kunstpreis junger westen 57 für Bil…dhauerei. Dieselben Arbeiten, die eben noch verrissen worden waren, wurden nun begeistert gefeiert, nachdem Albert Schulze Vellinghausen und John Antony Thwaites sehr positiv darüber berichtet hatten. 1958 war Cimiotti mit einer Werkgruppe im Italienischen Pavillon der 29. Biennale in Venedig vertreten. 1959 erhielt Cimiotti den Kunstpreis junger westen 59 für Handzeichnung sowie das Stipendium der Villa Massimo in Rom. Er nahm an der documenta II 1959 in Kassel sowie an Ausstellungen in den USA und Paris teil. 1960 wurden die in Rom entstandenen Arbeiten im Kölner Kunstverein ausgestellt und fast sämtlich von Museen erworben. Er nahm an der 30. Biennale in Venedig im Deutschen Pavillon mit Baumeister, Bissier und Schmidt-Rottluff teil. Er gehört zu den Künstlern, die dem Informel nach Ende des Krieges seine Inhalte gaben. Das für Cimiottis Bronzen charakteristische tiefenräumlich-aushöhlende Gestaltungsprinzip wurde seitdem von ihm entschieden weiterentwickelt. Dabei gelang es dem Künstler, durch den strukturellen Formaufbau neuartige Beziehungen zwischen Innenraum und Außenraum seiner Plastiken erkennbar zu machen. So erscheint es geboten, das Schaffen des Bildhauers im Zeitpunkt seiner Reife, da sich das Fragmentarische zu einem Ganzen rundet, noch einmal Revue passieren zu lassen, wie es Eberhard Roters in dem jetzt vorliegenden Band unternimmt.
