First Edition of this Reprint in Facsimile of the 1541 edition. The Introduction by Harvey Cushing is on pp. 7-12. The Biographical Notice by Edward C. Streeter… is on pp. 13-47. Garrison-Morton 373 (about the 1st ed., 1541?): "Contains copper-plates of the bones and muscles of the upper limb, from drawings by Girolamo da Carpi, which 'in realism and exactitude surpassed anything between Leonardo and Vesalius; but having seen the woodcuts of [Vesalius'] Fabrica, the high-minded Ferrarese deliberately suppressed his own book, and only 11 copies are now extant' (A. C. Klebs). The first book in which each muscle was illustrated separately. This work was reprinted in facsimile in Florence, 1925, edited by Harvey Cushing and Edward Clark Streeter [offered here]." The book was also bound in 3/4-linen and boards. Monumenta Medica IV (under the general editorship of Henry E. Sigerist).
