Ich will aber doch so bald ich kann mit Kopp sprechen u. hoffe daß du nicht wieder einen 'politischen Grund' bei anderen Collegen als Vermuthung befürchtest [.] Ich hatte eben gar nicht darauf gerechnet auch in diesen wenigen Wochen der Erholung im Gebirge Politik zu treiben, und glaube daß wir nach der Minister-Ernennung durch Passivität am meisten erreichen können wie unter Hohenwart [d. i. der Politiker Karl Graf Hohenwart zu Gerlachstein]. Mögen nur die neuen Machthaber den Bankrott machen! Briefen beschäftigt, komme ich nun auch an dich mit einem Partei-Anliegen heran. Der bekannte Kirchmair [d. i…. Hans Kirchmair, Hrsg. des Linzer Sonntagsblattes und Gründer des oö. Bauernvereins] hat sich schon in Linz an mich mit dem Ersuchen gewendet, ihm in der Bauernbewegung die Unterstützung der Vereinigten Linken zu erwirken. Seitdem hat mir K. wiederholt seinen Besuch angesagt u. nun auch abgestattet. Als ich ihm die einzig mögliche Unterstützung des Vorstandes, Correspondenzen des Postbureaus, in Aussicht stellte, im Uebrigen aber die o.ö. Abgeordneten als competent bezeichnete, meinte K. daß es ihm hauptsächlich um materielle Unterstützung seiner Agitations-Reisen u.s.w. zu thun sei, daß er sich von Schönerer [d. i. der Politiker Georg Heinrich Ritter von Schönerer] vollständig getrennt habe, u. daß er hauptsächlich wieder auf deine Beihilfe reflectire, weshalb ich dir schreiben u. seinen Besuch ankündigen möge. Indem ich dich [.] von dieser Sachlage verständige, überlasse ich alles Andere deiner besseren Einsicht u. stimme darin gewiß mit dir überein, daß die o. ö. Bauernbewegung für uns höchst werthvoll ist [.]". - Sturm gilt als Vater der österreichischen Grundrechte, welche auf Grundlage des von ihm 1867 konzipierten Staatsgrundgesetzes bis heute einen Bestandteil der österreichischen Verfassungsordnung bilden. Baron Lilienau [d. i. der Eisenbahnfachmann Rudolf Freiherr Limbeck von Lilienau], daß deine böse Grippe, die mir das Vergnü…gen raubte, dir Lebewohl zu sagen, den guten Lüften der Berge rasch und gänzlich gewichen ist [.] Heute besuchte mich wieder Freund Flesch u. theilte mir mit, daß er im oberöst. Großgrundbesitz [.] der einzige Gegencandidat Horst's [d. i. der Politiker Julius Joachim Ludwig Freiherr von Horst] sei, und auf die Unterstützung der liberalen Partei rechne, der er sich unbedingt anschließt, das Programm der 112 acceptirt u. sich von Plankh [d. i. der Politiker u. Gutsbesitzer Eduard Planck von Planckburg] u. Dehne [d. i. der Politiker und Jurist August Dehne] nicht trennt. Nur möchte er den hocharistokratischen Herren gegenüber die nöthige Reserve beobachten. Ich kenne Flesch seit Jahren als Capazität u. Ehrenmann, und glaube unbedingt daß er halten wird, was er verspricht, würde mich über seine Wahl, gegen Horst, herzlich freuen. Wenn du, Plankh u. Dehne ihn unterstützen, meint er durchzudringen, umsomehr als die Liberalen durch Einschiebung der Nutznießer ganz gegen den Minister-Candidaten gestimmt seien. Er will am 25. nach Linz kommen u. dich um eine Unterredung bitten, ersucht mich seine Unterstützung bei dir zu befürworten. Du wirst handeln wie du es gut findest u. wie es gut ist, davon bin ich überzeugt [.]". - Sturm gilt als Vater der österreichischen Grundrechte, welche auf Grundlage des von ihm 1867 konzipierten Staatsgrundgesetzes bis heute einen Bestandteil der österreichischen Verfassungsordnung bilden. Ich glaube auch nicht daß wir Herren wie Czedik [d. i. der Eisenbahndirektor und Politiker Alois Czedik von Bründlsberg und Eysenberg], Russ [d. i. der Verkehrsfachmann und Politiker Viktor Wilhelm Russ], Wolfrum [d. i. der Politiker Karl Wolfrum] durch unser Zuvorkommen abgehalten hätten, ihren Weg zu gehen u. kränke mich gar nicht, wenn sie diejenigen sind, welche uns ausschließen. In Verfassungsfragen ergibt sich die Einigkeit von selbst u. 60 entschlossene Männer gelten mehr als 120 die zur Hälfte ministeriale, farblos oder ehrgeizig sind. Ganz abgesehen von dem guten Kern und der oft verfehlten Tendenz dieser Ungewitter, möchte ich nur wo möglich noch heute erfahren ob Kronawetter auch diesmal persönlich wurde, namentlich etwa gegen die armen unschuldigen Mitglieder des Verwaltungsrathes, welche ja durch die Fusion (allerdings nicht zu ihrem größten Schmerze) depossedirt werden sollen. Ich bitte daher um einige Worte darüber, ob u. wie der Gegenstand erledigt wurde, ob ein Ausfall erfolgte der meine persönliche Erwiderung erheischt, ob morgen Haussitzung ist u. ob eine Zuschrift mit der Bitte um Vorbehalt des 'Wortes zum Protokoll' für eine der nächsten Sitzungen zulässig wäre.
