This first edition copy is handsomely bound in the publisher's original cloth binding. The first edition of this work. With a frontispiece and folding map to the rear. Told through letters sent by Lieutenant General Sir William Warre at the time of the conflict. Edited by his nephew Rev Edmond Warre. The letters were entrusted to Edmond Warre upon his own father's death. These letters are from William Warre's service between 1808-1812. In a full cloth binding with gilt stamping to the spine. Externally, smart with bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Spine has faded slightly. Prior owner's bookplate to front pastedown, C L Waring. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Spotting to foredge. Heavy spotting to the first and last few pages. Occasional spots throughout. Very Good. book.
