Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. A handsome 1994 second printing of Erotic Poems in the Everyman's Library Pocket Poets series, selected and edited by Peter Washington, and beautifully produced by Alfred A. Knopf. Bound in rich burgundy cloth with bright gilt titling and housed in t…he striking purple and white dust jacket designed by Barbara de Wilde, this compact anthology gathers erotic verse from more than twenty cultures and eras from Ovid and Lucretius to Hafiz, Octavio Paz, Brodsky, and Thom Gunn. The volume shows Near Fine condition overall: the cloth is clean, square, and sharp; gilt bright; text pages pristine; and the sewn binding tight and elegant, as typical of the Everyman's Library craft standards. The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition, showing minor edge rubbing and a few small specks to the rear flap but retaining strong color and crisp typography. Endpapers display the signature diagonal stripe motif; the rear endpaper shows a light spray of small speckling, not affecting the text block. A collectible example of one of the most aesthetically appealing entries in the Pocket Poets line, and a perfect gift copy - compact, durable, and thoughtfully curated.
