Please find: Songs and Sketches of the First Clearwater Crew, compiled and edited by Don McLean and with drawings by Tom Allen. This small hard cover book (6 ¼ x 9 ¼ inches, 95 pages) was published by the North River Press of Croton-on-Hudson, dated 1970 and a First Edition with the same date on title and copyright pages. The book is bound in mustard colored hard boards with black titles on cover and spine. There is a Foreword written by Pete Seeger explaining and celebrating the collective action of the many to draw attention to this cause of cleaning up the polluted Hudson River. Each song, of which there are over 40, includes a drawing by the Artist. This is truly a memento of the early days of environmental action in New York State. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are still bright albeit with some very slight blemishes. There has been almost no bumping to the corners and spine tips and the black titles are dark and attractive. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and drawings are clean and bright, from cover to cover. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square.
